What's that noise?

Just a quick update.

Last night we finished the dishes and started the dishwasher. Lulu ran to the dishwasher, and stood with her face practically touching the dishwasher listening to it hum and swish. Her little ears perked up and her head cocking back and forth with each new sound.

She enjoyed her first dish-washing experience!

What a goofy little girl...

Poor Girl...

Our poor Lulu is sicker than a dog..really. She has had quite the stomach virus, a skin infection, and possibly parasites. We got a whole load of meds for her. She's taking them like a champ. Though this morning I got a little attitude when she didn't want to eat the other half of her antibiotic. It's okay-she's allowed to protest. She's been on her meds for only a day but already she has a better attitude so I think she's feeling better. Glad to see her smiling again. She had me worried for a bit. On a side note-our aussie Bella is now sick to her stomach...hope she gets to feeling better soon or we gotta get her meds too. It's been a chaotic few days..hope things settle down soon...

Lulu sends her kisses!

What a sweetheart...

It's hard to believe that it's already been nearly 2 weeks since we've brought Lulu into our lives. That means only 4 weeks left! :( And only 4 weeks to find her a forever home.

It took about a week-but I believe Lulu is in love with us just as much as we are with her. She follows us wherever we are, sits as close as physically possible to us (and then tries to inch even closer), and just watches us with her "sad eyes". That's my nick name for her-Sad Eyes. She's not sad-but boy does she have sad eyes. It's heart-breakingly adorable. Many times she'll be standing there just watching me, and as soon as I flash her a smile her little body starts to wiggle in delight as she comes towards me for a kiss. And of course, I give her one.

Lulu sure has made herself at home and settled into a routine. She spends most of the day quietly in her kennel, nestled in an overstuffed cat bed (yes, she's that small!). Occasionally I'll hear the rattle of her favorite bone or an elongated quiet sigh. The only time she makes an real amount of noise is when she needs out to go potty-which she does almost instantly. In the evenings she sits on the couch with Paul & I and we all watch tv together.

Lulu and I spend a good portion of each afternoon on the back yard swing. She lays next to me with a leg in my lap and her head rested against my side. I wrap my arm around her body as we swing back and forth and listen to the birds and the wind rustling thru the leaves. We watch the people walk by and the occasional butterfly flutter across the back yard. She doesn't even bark when she hears a weird noise. It's the most peaceful thing I've ever been able to do. And it belongs to just her and I.

When I agreed to take Lulu in, I planned to spoil her and I expected to spend a great deal of time showing this little girl how worthy she is of being loved. I never expected to receive so much love in return. I feel so blessed to have her in my life, even if it is for just a short time.
